If you’re trying to eat healthy, I want you to do a quick experiment with me. It involves 10 words and a trash can.
And don’t worry, it’s simple. Not only that… it’ll help you shed unwanted body fat and feel better. Sound good?
Okay, here’s what you do:
Open your cupboard, pull out some of your favorite foods and snacks, and look at the ingredients…
If you see any of these words high on the list — white flour, wheat flour, all-purpose flour, or enriched flour — throw those foods out immediately.
[Hint: you may need more than one trash can.]
Why are you doing this? Take a break and let me tell you why on camera:
(Make sure your sound is turned on.)
Aren’t you glad you threw those cookies out now? I hope so.
You see, processed flour (and all its slick, hidden nicknames) has been completely stripped of all nutritional value.
Or an even better way to say it: processed flour is nutritionally dead—even whole wheat flour.
Because processed flour is what happens when an already-unhealthy food (wheat) gets worse.
You see, during flour processing, all of the “good things” — like fiber and nutrients — get eliminated. And bad things like bleach get added.
In fact, since so little nutrition is left after processing…
The FDA requires flour to have minerals like thiamine, niacin, and riboflavin artificially added back in.
Sadly, since these manufacturers only put the minimum-required nutrients back in… this is too little, too late.
As a result, all you’re left with is a bunch of cheap, empty calories and an expanding waistline.
So the next time you go grocery shopping, remember to read the labels.
Looking out for you,
Steven Gundry, MD
P.S. How many “flour-contaminated” things did you find in your pantry?
P.P.S. Chances are, your loved ones are eating just as much flour as you are. Be sure to share this article with them and let them know.
